Pink Moon’s bleak, calm, and focused sort of anguish was a final attempt for Nick Drake to rouse himself out of a paralyzing depression that had plagued him for so many years. Before committing suicide, Nick simply said that he had nothing left to record. His heavily underappreciated musical genius is praiseworthy enough to hold the highest pedestal in all of folk music.
